St. Joseph’s College was founded in 1844 by the fathers of the Society of Jesus, popularly known as the Jesuits. The College got autonomous status in 1978 and is affiliated to the University of Bharathidasan. It has been accorded the highest grade three times by NAAC and recognized by the University Grants Commission as a College with Potential for Excellence in 2004.
Department
St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (JIM), under the aegis of St. Joseph’s College Society, Tiruchirpalli, is situated on the sprawling campus of St. Joseph’s College. In response to the acute need for world class management professionals and to contribute to the process of nation building, JIM was established on 2007. It conducts a full time Post Graduate programme in Business Administration, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to the University of Bharathidasan, Tiruchirapalli.
